Thursday's Child utilizes the following specialists:

Special Educators

Special education teachers are professionally licensed by New York State.  They are responsible for general development and academic achievement.

Speech and Language Pathologists

Speech and language pathologists are licensed professionals who have obtained the Clinical Certificate of Competency (CCC).  They assist in developing the ability to use spoken words to express thoughts and ideas (expressive language).  They also teach skills necessary in comprehending spoken language.

Occupational Therapists

Occupational therapists are licensed and registered to practice in New York State.  They assess the coordination and dexterity of the fine motor movements of the hands and fingers.  They also teach children how to accurately process information received from the senses.

Physical Therapists

Physical therapists are professionally certified to practice in New York State.  They address the movements of the large muscles in the body and are responsible for the treatment of weak muscles and any balance or coordination problems.
